Aldi Nord and Süd have teamed up with the charity livestream event ‘YouTopia - Together for the Environment’ as its food partner.
The five-day event, scheduled from 30 September to 4 October, aims to create awareness about climate change and raise money for the organisation ‘Plant for the Planet’.
It also seeks to provide concrete examples of how sustainable action can be integrated into everyday life effectively.
Aldi will support the project with its sustainable food range and provide information about its initiatives in the areas of climate protection, packaging and conscious nutrition.
Stefan Michels, director of customer dialog and direct marketing channels at Aldi Nord, commented, "We are delighted to be part of the premiere of YouTopia as a food partner.
"In this way, we can show the YouTube community that conscious nutrition need not be expensive or complicated."
The Event
The first edition of the event will see five well-known YouTube stars address the topic of climate change and sustainability from different perspectives from a single venue.
The stars include Jonas Ems, Kayla Shyx, Simon Will, Jacob Beautemps, and HeyMoritz.
Over the entire period, more than 30 different guests will visit the YouTube stars in their camp, including Judith Rakers, Günther Jauch, Cem Özdemir, Eckart von Hirschhausen and Ranga Yogeshwar.
Marco Ganser, director buying at Aldi Süd, said, “Aldi, as a food partner, will provide the food for the participants throughout the entire period, which will be processed into delicious dishes in cooking shows.
“The focus is on fresh and organic products as well as the vegan product range.”
Daytime Challenge
Besides, Aldi will also organise a daytime challenge, where the YouTube stars will be asked to meet the goals of the ‘Aldi Packaging Mission' in a playful way.
Upon completing the challenge successfully, the retailer will donate to ‘Plant for the Planet’ for planting 10,000 trees.
YouTopia is a production of i&u TV/Leonine in cooperation with YouTube/Google, Aldi added.
