Discounter Aldi is set to launch more local format stores in London, reports the Retail Gazette.
The retail giant will open a new Aldi Local store in Camden on Thursday (27 June), which will sell 300 fewer items than a regular Aldi store.
It will also convert its stores in Archway, Eastcote, Kingston, Kilburn, Tooting and Romford to Aldi Local outlets on the same day.
In March of this year, Aldi launched its first local format store in Balham in South London.
The outlet received positive feedback from customers, prompting the retailer to expand the trial in other locations in London.
The results of these trials will determine whether Aldi will introduce the concept and branding permanently, the report said.
