German health-food supermarket Alnatura has open a new store, in Bergisch-Gladbach.
The new store, which opened on 20 September, is the 13th branch of the company in the region of Nordrhein-Westphalen and the 107th Alnatura store in Germany.
With a retail space of over 660 square meters, the store offers an assortment of around 6,000 articles, including regionally-grown organics, and will employ twelve people.
The shop interior has been designed to highly sustainable and eco-friendly standards, using mainly natural products and recycled materials, as well as energy-saving devices.
To mark the opening, the company has organised a fundraiser, under the title, 'Alnatura City Projects', which is to benefit three local, non-profit, socially committed associations.
Alnatura currently employs 2,630 people, including 140 trainees. Over the fiscal year 2014/2015, the company generated sales of €760 million - an increase of 10% compared to the previous year.
