Following months of speculation, Amazon has announced an alliance with Groupe Casino banner Monoprix, which will see Prime Now services offered to shoppers in Paris and surrounding neighbourhoods.
Due to be launched this year, the service will see Monoprix SKUs available in the Prime Now app and website through a dedicated web store.
“Thanks to this unique partnership between Amazon and Monoprix, Casino Group reinforces its omni channel distribution strategy and gets even closer to its customers and their needs,” commented Jean-Charles Naouri, chairman and chief executive of Groupe Casino.
“This commercial partnership is a new milestone in Casino Group strategy to innovate ever more for tomorrow’s urban commerce.”
Product Range
The offering will include Monoprix’s store brands including Monoprix, Monoprix Gourmet, Monoprix Bio and La Beauté Monoprix SKUs, as well as fresh produce and exclusive ranges.
Régis Schultz, the chairman of Monoprix said that the move enables the banner to “further differentiate and increase its unique position as urban omni channel leader. Monoprix will benefit from the most comprehensive grocery delivery service in Paris.”
Shoppers wishing to use the service can download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, or visit www.primenow.fr to find eligible delivery postcodes, place orders and track the status of their delivery in real time.
