Danish retailer Netto has announced that it is appointing Anders Wennerberg as the new country director for Netto Sweden.
The company says that Netto Sweden is one of Dansk Supermarked Group's main growth areas, due to the increase that has been seen in the country's discount sector in recent years.
Expansion Plan
"Our plans for Netto Sweden are ambitious with both new concepts and expansion, so it has been crucial for us to get an experienced person like Anders, who knows the industry and the Swedish market, both on the purchasing and business side," said Michael Løve, executive vice president of Netto International.
Wennerberg has two decades of experience in the Swedish retail sector, having held positions at Coop, ICA, Biltema, and Intersport. He said that he is looking forward to becoming involved in the "ambitious growth plan" that Netto has for the Swedish market.
Meanwhile, it was also announced today that Magnus Johansson has been appointed as the new CEO of Coop Sweden, succeeding Sonat Burman-Olsson.
