German petrol provider Aral has refurbished its 100th service station featuring the Rewe To Go store concept, which was opened in Munich earlier this week.
Aral began this collaboration with the retailer in 2016, and plans to have introduced Rewe To Go stores in up to 1,000 of the company's petrol stations by 2021.
"The conversion of the shops at our petrol stations got off to a good start in 2017. The new format will be in up to 200 stations by the end of the year," said Rainer Kraus, head of transformation convenience business at Aral.
Concept
Each Rewe To Go store features a selection of hot and cold dishes, baked goods, and convenience products such as confectionary and beverages.
"With our core competence as a food wholesaler and supplier of the sales concept Rewe To Go, we will contribute to the sustainable strengthening of the shop business together with our partner Aral," said Philipp Pauly, head of the Rewe To Go format at Rewe.
