UK retailer Asda has launched a food box containing a selection of essential grocery items and cupboard favourites, aimed at those that are self-isolating due to the coronavirus crisis.
The box contains 31 products including cereal, bread, pasta, tinned fruit and vegetables, sauces, Extra Special jam, teabags and long-life milk as well as a selection of treats.
The food boxes, available to all, are designed to simplify the grocery shopping experience of vulnerable customers and those who are self-isolating during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
'Ease The Strain'
Mike Snell, managing director of Asda’s sourcing and procurement arm, IPL, commented, “For vulnerable people across the country, staying at home and not being able to make a trip to the supermarket is a difficult prospect.
“At Asda, we’re committed to helping ease the strain on our customers during this time and hope that by offering our food box at an affordable price, we can help to make lives that little bit easier, giving people peace of mind that their cupboards will be well-stocked without the stress.”
Customers can order the food box online for £30, which includes delivery charges, and receive their orders at their doorsteps within two days, Asda added.
