Auchan Enables M-Payment In Portuguese Stores

Customers of the Jumbo and Pão de Açúcar stores in Portugal can now make purchases at self-service boxes (Quiq and Quiq Plus) just by using their mobile phones.

The agreement signed between Auchan Portugal Hipermercados and payment services company SIBS includes the retailer's physical and online stores.

The purchases are made via the MB Way mobile payment solution, which allows users to make instant money transfers and purchases at participating merchants. The cardholder must have previously enrolled via online banking or an ATM.

Every payment is protected by a PIN introduced in the MB Way app (available for iOS and Android).

MB Way is available for Portuguese mobile-phone numbers and for Portuguese Multibanco banking cards (12 banks are currently taking part).

No top-ups are required, and there are no membership fees for the use of MB Way.
