Auchan Romania has renovated its Brașov Vest hypermarket to launch a brand new concept: ATAC Hiper Discount by Auchan, promising 'everyday low prices' and different price tiers based on quantity.
ATAC uses a variety of strategies to keep prices down, including optimising product selection, reducing operating costs, and offering bulk discounts. Additionally, they've minimised electricity consumption by reducing the need for extensive refrigerated display cases.
Optimised logistics processes and reduced transport costs further contribute to competitive prices. Investments in decorations and advertising are minimised to prioritise affordability. Products are efficiently handled on pallets and boxes with adapted shelving to maximise space utilisation.
Consumers can find a variety of fresh and grocery products, household essentials, and more across 17,000 carefully chosen items. The assortment consists of 60% food products and 40% non-food products, including both Romanian-made products and imports.
Store Highlights
The new shop format, spanning an area of 6,000 square metres, offers convenient shopping with wide aisles, clear signage, and plenty of checkout options, including eight cash registers and 16 self-checkout stations. The store caters to both individual shoppers and businesses, with special offers for loyalty cardholders.
ATAC customers can also actively contribute to environmental protection by having access to used cooking oil collection services, a system for collecting PET, aluminium, and glass packaging, and participation in the Zero Waste district.
The store on Cristianului Road No. 5 in the Bartolomeu district of Brasov joins Auchan Romania’s network of over 430 stores.
The portfolio includes 30 classic hypermarkets, three discount hypermarkets, seven supermarkets, the Auchan Go store, almost 400 MyAuchan ultra-proximity stores (mostly located in Petrom fuel stations), and the Auchan online store.
