French retailer Auchan has opened its first My Auchan supermarket in the city of Lille.
Located at 14 lace de la Nouvelle Aventure, in the district of Wazemmes, the supermarket is the fifth of its kind in the country.
Across a sales area of 427 square metres, My Auchan Wazemmes offers a range of products, including baked bread and pastries, fruit and vegetables, gourmet food, a wine and beer cellar, and Nespresso coffee that can be enjoyed on site, according to the retailer. It also specialises in snacks and freshly squeezed orange juice.
The entire Auchan offering is also available online or through in-store terminals. The new store offers home delivery and is integrated into the retailer’s relaunched Auchan app.
Phygital Concept
“[The store] expresses the phygital concept of Auchan Retail France's business, combining the best of physical commerce (proximity, attractiveness, shopping pleasure, service) with the flexibility of digital commerce,” the retailer said.
The store is equipped with smartphone chargers and free Wi-Fi, as well as in-store terminals for browsing Auchan’s online catalogue.
The My Auchan Wazemmes store will also have a news stand and tailoring services for clothes, according to the retailer.
In October, Auchan opened its third My Auchan supermarket in Portugal's capital city Portugal with an aim to double the amount by the end of the year.
