Auchan has opened its first convenience store in Portugal, located in Lisbon.
With a total area of 430 square metres, the store consists of three distinct zones: market, fast food and high consumption products, with a strong focus on refrigerated, bio and dietary products.
The company plans to open six My Auchan stores by the end of the year and is investing €6 million in the project. The next My Auchan store will be opened, also in Lisbon, on April 6.
According to a press release issued by the company, the My Auchan concept, which has been successfully deployed in other countries, enables Auchan “to get even closer to consumers and respond in the best way to their needs and expectations”, with a wider offer of cheaper quality products.
The My Auchan stores are sized between 200 and 500 square metres, do not have a reception desk, and feature both traditional check-out tills and automated ones. In addition, they are equipped with free Wi-Fi and enable the pick-up of purchases to be carried out online.
