Auchan has rebranded, as part of a trial process, the first of 14 stores under the new banner Auchan Supermarché, according to RetailAnalysis.IGD.com.
The inaugural Auchan Supermarché outlet is located in Saint Germain lès Corbeil, in Île-de-France, around 35 kilometres outside Paris. This project follows Auchan’s single-banner initiative, announced in October of last year.
The Auchan Supermarché supermarkets are anticipated to be operational by the end of 2017 H1.
In terms of floor plan, the outlets place emphasis on fresh produce, as well as on meat and cheese. There are fewer concrete divisions between product categories; instead, the store design uses differences in floor colouring, as well as different style units, to indicate different types of SKU.
Linéaires.fr reported that additional employees have been recruited to help offer guidance to shoppers in Auchan Supermarché’s wine and beauty areas.
