Auchan Retail announced that Patrick Espasa has been appointed as deputy director in charge of partnerships in France and internationally, and will be replaced as managing director of Auchan Retail France by Ali Khosrovi.
The French retail group says that these appointments are part its ongoing transformation plan, which aims to create the 'leading phygital company in France'.
Leadership Roles
Espasa has worked at Auchan for almost forty years, first in France, then in Italy and Romania. Since 2015, he has held the position of managing director Auchan Retail France.
Speaking about his promotion, Wilhelm Hubner, general manager of Auchan Retail, said that Espasa has a "perfect knowledge" of the profession.
Meanwhile, Ali Khosrovi is set to succeed Espasa as head of the retailer's French business. Khosrovi joined Auchan in 1993 and has held a number of senior positions in the company. Most recently, he has been general manager of Immochan France.
Auchan Retail operates in 17 countries worldwide, with 3,715 retail outlets. The company recorded turnover of €51.7 billion in 2016.
