Spar Carinthia, in Austria, has celebrated the fifth anniversary of the four-month training programme it runs in collaboration with AMS and Land Kärnten.
This training programme allows young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to be in with a chance of an apprenticeship with Spar and offers an introduction to possible career opportunities.
"I am very grateful for this opportunity," said trainee Amin Safai. “I feel very comfortable here and part of the Spar family already. The work is fun and I hope I can stay here and do the actual apprenticeship at Spar. "
This year, 38 new students are taking part in the programme, provided in collaboration with Interspar, Tann and Hervis. There are a total of 17 different apprenticeships to choose from, including apprenticeships in retail - focusing on food, hardware or sporting goods.
