Bailie To Step Down As COO At Lidl UK

The COO of Lidl UK, Martin Bailie, has announced that he will be stepping down from the retailer before the end of the year, to pursue an as yet unnamed opportunity.

IGD Retail Analysis reported new Lidl UK chief Christian Härtnagel as praising the 'integral' role that Bailie played at Lidl over the past 14 years, providing the business with 'invaluable leadership'.

Bailie himself commented, "I've enormously enjoyed my time with Lidl since joining as a graduate many years ago. I’m very grateful for the challenge and responsibilities that have been offered to me during my time here as well as the fantastic opportunities to develop and progress."

Bailie was appointed COO at Lidl UK in September of last year, having held a variety of roles with the discounter.
