Austria-based retail chain Billa increased turnover at its Czech Republic almost 6% to just under CZK 26 billion (€968 million) in 2016.
Last year, Billa opened ten new supermarkets and currently operates 213 shops in the country. It plans to continue with its store openings and upgrades in 2017.
"In addition to Prague and central Bohemia, [we will expand into] south Bohemia and south Moravia", said Billa Czech Republic CEO, Jaroslaw Szczypka, as reported by Czech journal Zboží&Prodej.
Currently, Billa has 5,894 employees in the Czech Republic.
The company's complete financial statements and annual report for 2016 will be published in July 2017.
