Retailer Caprabo has announced that it has opened a new supermarket in the parish of La Massana in Andorra.
The move is part of Caprabo's expansion plan. This year, new store openings by the retailer have already exceeded last year's numbers.
To date, the company has opened 15 new supermarkets in 13 towns in the four Catalan provinces and Andorra.
The new 400 square-meter franchise store, located on Carrer de Les Costes de Giberga, employs 14 people.
The store operates from 9:30 am to 9:30 pm from Monday to Saturday and from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm on Sundays.
Caprabo already operates two supermarkets in the parishes of Escaldes-Engordany and Andorra La Vella.
Claudio Estévez, franchise manager at Caprabo, said, "This opening in Andorra is an example of Caprabo's commitment to the franchised store model, a model that allows us to expand our presence in key territories through an offer adapted to the new needs of customers.
"Andorra is a market we are familiar with, where we already have 2,717 square metres of retail space in two stores. It is undoubtedly an environment on which we will continue to focus."
New Stores
The new supermarkets opened by Caprabo focus on health, fresh and local products, assortment variety, personalised savings, and innovation.
The retailer implements its 'new-generation model' to different supermarket formats, which vary upon the location, size of the establishment, and concentration of the population.
The formats include Caprabo, Caprabo rapid and Aliprox banners.
Caprabo added that it operates a 'Proximity Programme', which enables it to sell products from all Catalan regions.
The company's new stores, in addition to incorporating the new store model, also focus on promoting the consumption of local products.
