Carrefour Brazil has begun placing stronger emphasis on indigenous produce, showcasing a wider range of domestic goods through in-hypermarket displays.
The retailer has also produced a leaflet for its clientele, copies of which are available in 64 of its outlets (soon to be made available nationwide), detailing information on the provenance and suppliers of its domestic products.
The brochure details information about fresh products, such as meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, as well as products used in traditional recipes.
‘Guaranteeing product freshness and quality, boosting the local economy and reducing the environmental impact by keeping the distance travelled to a minimum are all part of an initiative that benefits Carrefour, its customers and its suppliers,’ according to the retailer.
