French retailer Carrefour has announced that it is expanding its 'Bon App!' (short for 'Bon Appétit') food-to-go stores, after beginning testing two years ago.
In 2015, the retailer opened its first two trial stores in Paris, followed by several openings in other French cities since last May. However, the company now confirms that even more stores are to be rolled out, with several new openings scheduled before the end of the year.
To begin this expansion plan, Carrefour has opened a new Bon App! store on Rue du Temple in Paris.
Food To Go
Carrefour's Bon App! outlets are convenience stores with a focus on snacks, meal solutions and food-to-go items.
The stores feature a range of around 800 products, some of which are exclusive to Bon App!, including hot food, salads, healthy snacks, sandwiches, beverages, baked goods, prepared fruit and vegetables, and hot drinks.
Carrefour's private-label line, also called Bon App!, accounts for one quarter of the products on offer. The product lines are regularly updated, often with different themes, such as organic produce or world cuisine.
