Carrefour has hosted the United Nations’ ‘Global Business Engagement for Disability Inclusion’ conference.
Ségolène Neuville, France's Secretary of State for Disabled People was present, with Carrefour CEO George Plassat also taking part in discussions.
Carrefour hosted the event as part of its role as Chair of the ILO's National Business & Disability Network. Guy Ryder, director-general of the International Labour Organisation, also took part in the event.
Carrefour says the occasion ‘involved 16 major groups, which are all members of the network and signatories of the Global Business and Disability Network charter.
‘More than 100 managers, representatives and charity stakeholders are involved in helping to integrate people with disabilities, into the workplace.’
At present, Carrefour employs more than 11,000 staff with disabilities.
