Carrefour Italia has opened its first Carrefour Gourmet supermarket, a new store format that has been designed to offer exclusive products in a relaxing shopping atmosphere.
Located in Milano (Viale Bezzi), the existing Carrefour outlet has been redesigned to guide consumers through themed areas across two floors offering over 20,000 products.
Selected Italian and international products are available, including traditional Asian dishes (from Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos), as well as a unique selection of gourmet seafood.
The store now includes a wine cellar and what Carrefour calls a ‘champagne experience’ area, as well as a juice aisle featuring specialty drinks.
There are also special sections devoted to chocolate, coffee (with roasting on site) and hot drinks (including premium teas from all over the world).
Finally, a significant amount of space has been devoted to cosmetics in a duty-free-style area, with dedicated customer service, make-up mirrors and 'natural green' body-care products.
