Electrical goods manufacturer LG and Carrefour have announced an environment awareness campaign in Spain, where four trees will be planted for every purchase of maximum energy efficiency LG electrical appliance from any Carrefour hypermarket.
The environmental awareness campaign has been initiated in collaboration with Las Rozas Local Authority and the Spanish Forest Stewardship Council (FSC Spain).
All Carrefour Spain centres and the company website are focusing communications on LG’s most energy efficient electrical appliances up to 31 August 2018.
The launch was attended by the mayor of Las Rozas, José de la Uz and officials from Carrefour, LG Electronics and FSC Spain.
Raising Awareness About Sustainability
This initiative is closely linked to LG’s smart green commitment and Carrefour’s goal to spearhead food transition as a part of its sustainability drive.
Consumers can make a conscious choice by opting for products that are sustainable, and Carrefour believes that this can be achieved by raising awareness about the company's essential environmental protection action.
In May this year, Carrefour France became the first French retailer to commit to 100% recyclable, reusable or compostable packaging for its own products.
