The car rental arm of French retailer Carrefour, Carrefour Location, is to offer customers new electric vehicles, including two Tesla models, starting in June 2022.
The retailer is the first to feature such an offering.
Electric Vehicles In Rental Range
Carrefour Location, one of the top vehicle rental network with 850 branches in France, is attempting to speed up the expansion of its fleet.
It has introduced a range of new electric tourism vehicles, including the Tesla Model Y and the Tesla Model 3.
Until 31 July and in nearly 30 of its stores, Carrefour Location will be offering Tesla cars for €59 for the first day of rental.
Thereafter, prices will vary depending on the model and the time of the week (between €119 and €149 on different days), the retailer noted.
Initially, Tesla vehicles will be available from 80 of the retailer's hypermarkets and supermarkets.
'An Innovative Range Of Electric Cars'
Jean-Baptiste Prévoteau, director of in-store services at Carrefour France, said, "Our customers' relationship with mobility is changing faster and faster! To keep pace with it, Carrefour is bolstering its rental service with an innovative range of electric cars, including the iconic Tesla.
"The new range will provide our customers with a unique experience, while at the same time helping them with their own energy transition."
Carrefour is looking at 2022 with confidence as it works on a new strategy that will allow the French retailer to step up digital expansion and be more resilient amid an increasingly uncertain environment, its chief executive has said.
