Carrefour has issued a recall of the Nonna-branded ‘Quinoa aux légumes’ SKU in Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette, owing to the possibility that some of them may contain the bacteria listeria.
The 250g-SKUs have been pulled from shelves. Those with use-by dates up to and including 20 September 2016 may be contaminated.
It is estimated that the products affected were sold primarily between 9 and 14 September, according to Wort.lu.
Symptoms of infection – which include abdominal cramps and vomiting, among others – sometimes manifest about eight weeks after the contaminated food is consumed. Those with immune-system issues, pregnant women and the elderly are at risk in particular.
