Retail giant Carrefour has opened its first convenience store in an airport, with the new store located at Paris Orly.
As reported by IGD, Carrefour launched the new store in partnership with Aeroports de Paris and it will open between 6am-1opm seven days a week, catering for airport staff, travellers and visitors.
Convenience-orientated formats are working well for Carrefour in France and the new airport store will stock approximately 3,000 items including hot and cold snacks, fresh produce, branded items and the private label range Reflets de France.
According to IGD, France is one of the three main countries that Carrefour is focusing on as part of its multi-format expansion strategy.
