Carrefour has opened its inaugural hypermarket in Kenya, in a collaborative effort with its franchise partner, the Majid Al Futtaim Group.
The new outlet has been constructed in the Hub Karen shopping centre in Nairobi, and contains 5,000 square metres of floor space. The complex itself has parking facilities for 1,265 cars.
Carrefour and the Majid Al Futtaim Group control 170 stores under Carrefour’s banners in 16 countries.
The French hypermarket giant also recently opened its tenth Carrefour Easy convenience outlet in China (12 May), with the Shanghai store boasting 251 square metres of floor space.
