Carrefour Opens First ‘Premium’ Market Store In Warsaw

Carrefour has opened its newest concept store in Poland – its first ‘Premium’ Market outlet – which allows shoppers to juice fruit they have bought in-store, as well as access a 'ripening room' and 'meat smoker'.

Carrefour has emphasised space in the design of the new store – the Białołęka outfit “has a floor area of 2,020 square metres, and a new layout with wide aisles, clearly marked departments and low gondolas to enable customers to access their products more easily,” the retailer said.

“These improvements have made the store more spacious and welcoming. Innovation extends all the way to the checkouts, where the displays have been replaced by digital screens.”

The product offering places emphasis on organic fresh produce, as well as soya-based and gluten free-produce. The store also contains a ‘Reflets de France’ range, and a ‘Terre d'Italia’ range in its international section.

“In addition, the store also carries a permanent range of bulk products such as pasta, coffee, sweets and cakes, plus cat- and dog-food,” Carrefour said. “To help customers in the preparation of their meals, the aisle-end product staging has been rethought and now applies cross-merchandising by associating products such as pasta and tomato sauce, brioches and spreads.”
