Carrefour Spain has announced its latest recipients of Innovation Awards within the FMCG sector.
As reported on financialfood.es, the companies honoured included Panrico, PepsiCo, Nestlé, Mompel, Primar Ibérica, Calidad Pascual, Mahou, L'Oreal España, Casa Vigar, Mars España, Ferrero Ibérica and Gallina Blanca. All were acknowledged by the retailer due to their high level of research and development.
This is the second year in which Carrefour has rewarded Spanish innovation in the sector.
Pascal Clouzard, Director of Carrefour Spain said that "distributors have to recognise and openly reward the efforts of those that invest in the research and development of new products that today's society demands, or that improve on what already exists."
Jesús Lorente, Commercial Director, added that the drive for innovation "generates huge opportunities, since it has been proven that those categories that innovate, grow up to four times more than those which don't. It is important for business to continue innovating; both for the growth of their sectors and of the economy in general.
