Carrefour Spain has announced plans to will sign 4,400 permanent employment contracts this year.
Out of these, 3,200 will be part of an agreement the retailer signed with Eroski for the acquisition of 36 hypermarkets.
Carrefour Spain explained in a statement that "the commitment towards job creation, especially for young people, will continue to be part of the company's identity in 2016", reports Alimarket.es
Carrefour has set as an objective to have at least 85 per cent of its staff working under permanent contracts.
It says that the profile of the workers the business expects to hire this year is clear and simple: business oriented, customer service skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and potential for development.
