Carrefour has partnered with Showroomprivé to support around 20 start-ups that will be selected for the online sales website's Look Forward incubator programme.
It will be the first time that Carrefour will be a partner in the programme, which Showroomprivé has been running for the past three years.
The Highlights
The retail giant will help these start-ups in successfully implementing their innovative projects in the mass merchandising sector.
Each start-up will also get an amount of €100,000 from Carrefour and Showroomprivé.
A two-person team of Carrefour employees will mentor the selected start-ups in business-specific issues like marketing, logistics, and e-commerce.
It will also provide sales opportunities in France and other countries, as well as access to its open innovation ecosystem comprising incubators, investment funds, and international monitoring.
Additional Facilities
Additionally, Showroomprivé will host the start-ups in its French and European premises, and provide business services at preferential rates for marketing tools, payment solutions, cloud storage space, banking, and postal rates.
On 21 November 2017, around 30 start-ups presented their pitches to a panel comprising the CEO of Showroomprivé, Thierry Petit, CEO of Beauté-Privée, Frédéric Bille, and the group's innovation director Clément Marty.
The names of the start-ups selected for the programme will be announced in January of next year.
