Carrefour plans to revamp six former DIA supermarkets under a new trading banner, Contact Marché, Linéaires reports.
The supermarkets will be located respectively in Alençon, Tournon-sur-Rhône, Rillieux-la-Pape, Rousies, Bonneuil-sur-Marne, and Gournay-en-Bray. They will each occupy between 860 and 1,000 square metres of floor space, making them larger than the DIA stores they will replace.
The stores will push a range of discount offers (three-for-the-price-of-four deals on breads and pastries, €1 euro for a kilo of oranges or bananas, etc.), and will place a very strong emphasis of fresh produce, Carrefour said.
The opening dates for the new stores have yet to be disclosed.
