Carrefour To Open Hypermarket In Abu Dhabi Mall

Carrefour has announced plans to open a hypermarket in the soon to-be-built $1-billion Reem Mall in Abu Dhabi.

The shopping centre, due to open at the end of 2018, will boast two million square feet of retail floor space. It is to be built by Kuwait’s National Real Estate Company, in conjunction with United Projects for Aviation Services Company.

The Carrefour hypermarket will be operated by its partner Majid Al Futtaim Retail.

As reported by TheNational.ae, Majid Al Futtaim’s executive regional director, Miguel Povedano, said, “As one of the region’s most developed retail markets, Abu Dhabi presents a very attractive investment opportunity. The Carrefour hypermarket in the upcoming Reem Mall development will further cement our presence in the region."

“Carrefour is a highly respected global brand and will play an integral role in forming Reem Mall’s unique retail offering," commented Shane Eldstrom, chief operating officer for Reem Mall.
