French retailer Carrefour is to launch a new project, ‘J’optimisme Côté Coulisses', which will allow its customers to take a 20 minute 'behind the scenes' tour of a Carrefour hypermarket, so that they may see operations such as meat and fish preparation, baking and a range of other activities.
According to French trade magazine LSA, the event is designed to demonstrate the retailer’s quality when it comes to product preparation. The tour will be available in 200 hypermarkets across France.
“This event is a first for any supermarket chain,” said Eric Bourgeois, Carrefour director of hypermarkets.
“We want to organise it with the state of mind that characterises us – with optimism, transparency and passion – in order to create an experience which is truly unique. We will thus solidify the confidence consumers already have in us.”
