Carrefour UAE To Open Ten New Hypermarkets

Carrefour is set to open ten new hypermarkets in the United Arab Emirates before the close of 2017, helping to fulfil its goal to have 210 supermarkets and 140 hypermarkets operational in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia by 2018.

“In the last two decades we have witnessed a number of retail trends emerge, including increasing demand for smaller supermarket-style stores in recent years,” commented Miguel Povedano, executive regional director for Carrefour UAE, according to GulfNews.com.

“We will continue to grow the hypermarket brand in the UAE with the addition of two more hypermarkets and address the growing trend for smaller convenient stores through the introduction of eight new supermarkets. We also look forward to extending our home delivery service, which we are currently testing in selected areas in Dubai.”
