Carrefour has launched its own Chinese e-commerce site, selling mostly grocery and household items.
The French supermarket chain, which has been operating supermarkets in China since entering the market in 1995, recently unveiled Carrefour.cn, according to internetretailer.com.
At the moment, it only delivers to Shanghai, but the retailer says that it plans to expand to other cities.
Carrefour has also installed tablets in its stores to allow shoppers to order from online inventory, while it is using its stores as distribution centres for some online orders, as well as allowing consumers to pick up online orders in stores.
Carrefour operates 238 supermarkets in about 70 Chinese cities.
