Italian cooperative Cia-Conad, part of Italy’s national retail consortium Conad, is planning to open seven new stores during the course of 2016, the company has announced.
The new openings will be in Savignano sul Rubicone (1,200 m2), Padua (2,500 m2), Pesaro (1,500 m2), Cava di Forli (1,400 m2), Morciano (2,500 m2), as well as in Rimini and Osimo. The expansions are part of a 2015-2017 investment plan, worth €250 million.
The cooperative is active in the Italian regions of Emilia Romagna, Marche, Marche, Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto, as well as in the Republic of San Marino.
At the end of 2015, Cia-Conad consisted of 157 partners with a total of 237 stores.
Last year, the network grew with the acquisition of 32 Billa stores in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia and seven Coop Operaie stores in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
