Portuguese hypermarket chain Continente has opened two new stores in Portugal.
The first, located in Buarcos, required an investment of €6 million, and is the retailer's eighth store in the district of Coimbra.
The 1,460 square metre hypermarket features a wide range of products, consisting of tens of thousands of references, with an emphasis on fresh and local produce. This is in line with Continente’s commitment to boost national production.
It features a bakery, butcher's, fishmongers, and fruit and vegetable department, where customers can find information about the origin of the products.
The second new hypermarket is located in Baixa da Banheira, and is the 24th Continente store in the district of Setúbal.
The 1047 square metre store was completed following an investment of €4 million, and features the same concept as the new outlet in Buarcos.
To mark both openings, during the first week Continente is offering a 10% discount when customers use the Continente loyalty card.
