Switzerland’s Coop has announced that the students in its apprenticeship programme, achieved a 99% pass rate for their 2016 final exams, hopefully paving the way for the next generation of the company’s employees.
Through the programme, Coop prepares about 3,000 people to join the Swiss workforce, and those of other countries, each year, it claims in a press release.
The educational programme offers training to individuals, who in the future, will work in; logistics, sales, administration, transport, SKU-production, and IT.
Many graduates segue directly into Coop employment, upon successfully completing the course.
Eren Gökalp, one of the graduates, earned her diploma in supply chain studies.
She said, “I am going to continue to work for Coop as a logistical command-post operator at the distribution centre in Frenkendorf. After that, I would like to become a logistics specialist.
“I was able to acquire a lot of experience over the course of these three years, and the responsibilities with which I was entrusted have given me a lot of confidence in myself,” she added.
