Coop Danmark has announced that Torben B. Andersen is set to become the new director of its Dagli'Brugsen and LokalBrugsen stores, effective 1 January.
Andersen, who is currently head of marketing at the group's Kvickly chain, will now be responsible for approximately 340 stores across Denmark.
He first joined Coop in 1988, and has since worked in distribution, as a sales manager, and as sales and marketing director.
He replaces Jesper K. Andersen, who has been appointed as the new director of the retailer's SuperBrugsen business.
Last month, Coop Danmark announced that it is trialling the first unmanned grocery store in the country, at one of its Dagli'Brugsen outlets in Sengeløse, a town west of Copenhagen.
The group currently operates a number of store formats under its SuperBrugsen, Dagli'Brugsen, Fakta, Irma and Kvickly banners.
