Swiss grocer Coop has named Urs Meier as its new chief communications officer, succeeding Denise Stadler, who will take on a new role within the company.
45-year-old Meier, who studied Germanic languages and civilisations at the University of Basel, moves from managing media relations at Warner Bros.
Jörg Ledermann, Coop’s director of quality, development and communications, said, “We are delighted to have Urs Meier join the company, as he is the perfect successor to Denise Stadler.”
“He is a bona fide communications expert who possesses a perfect understanding of Coop, as well as Swiss media."
He also remarked that Stadler was “peerless” during her four years at the helm of the firm’s communications division.
