Coop has emerged as Sweden's most sustainable brand for the fourth time this year, according to the Sustainable Brand Index 2021 survey.
Elsewhere, Änglamark was named as an industry winner in Sweden in the food category for the third consecutive year.
'An Incredible Deal'
Charlotta Szczepanowski, head of sustainability and quality at Coop Sweden, said, "Of course, it means an incredible deal to us at Coop that our customers and members see the initiatives we take in the area of sustainability.
"We are a cooperative owned by over 3.6 million members, and together we can really make a difference. We have high ambitions, and we want to be the good force in [the food category] in Sweden. But we are far from done."
The Study
The survey, one of Europe's largest brand studies on sustainability, included more than 60,000 respondents across eight countries in Europe, of which 23,400 were Swedish.
The target group comprised people aged 16–75 years, with the sample size representing each country's population composition.
The interviews were conducted between November 2020 to February 2021.
