Coop Netherlands has announced that it will open the first of its 51 EMTÉ stores on 18 September 2018, according to a press release.
The new renovated Coop store is located in Gilze.
The opening of the store will mark the beginning of the integration of EMTÉ stores under the Coop banner.
In March of this year, Dutch retailers Jumbo and Coop jointly purchased Emté retail from Sligo for €410 million.
It was agreed between the two groups that 79 Emté stores would go under the Jumbo banner, and 51 to the Coop banner.
Two New Stores Every Week
The retail giant expects to open at least 20 Emté stores by the end of 2018.
The second converted store will open on 19 September, in Ravenstein, a day after the launch of the store in Gilze.
"The Netherlands is increasingly turning orange. We will take a substantial step in the coming months. We open two new stores almost every week. We are very proud of this newest Coop store and welcome our new colleagues,” said Maarten Ebben, the director of Winkeloperatie Coop.
