Coop Sweden has announced it is reducing the price of around 100 everyday products for its members until 10 March.
The goods that will be included in the campaign include bread, cakes, biscuits, ground beef, kebabs, pork tenderloin and sausages, toppings for sandwiches, and fresh pasta.
Other items include dairy products, such as sour cream, crème fraiche and cheese, frozen items such as hamburgers, bread, veggie mince, potato buns and berries, dry goods such as crushed tomatoes, lingonberries, noodles, nuts and rice, among others.
The price reduction will also be applicable on organic chocolate and various drinks.
Under the Änglamark brand, the price of detergent, baking paper and soap is reduced.
'Tough Times'
"Although many people say that brighter times are ahead, we can state that tough times still prevail, with an economic climate where many are struggling and counting every penny," said Marie Nygren, CEO of Coop Sweden.
"From Coop's side, we want to take our share of responsibility in the work we all need to do together to bring down inflation.
"Continuing to lower prices on everyday favorites, relevant to our members, is one way."
Membership
The reduced prices for weeks five to ten apply to all Coop and Stora Coop stores, and the products can be found under the private label brands Coop, Änglamark and Xtra.
Nearly 250,000 Swedes have become members of Coop in the past eighteen months.
"In addition to the price reductions, we also see opportunities for improvement in other areas," said Nygren.
"The fact that more people will now discover that there is a monthly bonus that can be collected when paying at the cash register, we think will be an appreciated news, and something that improves the experience of visiting their Coop store."
