Coop Sweden has appointed Örjan Grandin as the new CEO of its subsidiary Coop Logistik AB. In addition, he will become vice president of Coop Sweden AB.
Grandin previously held the position of business area director for logistics at Coop, but left the company a year and a half ago to join the Mekonomen Group. His career has covered several senior roles in supply chain and logistics, in companies such as Q-Med, Ericsson and Minerva.
Upon returning to Coop, Grandin will replace Petri Järvinen, who left the company in September. He will officially assume the position in six months, and is currently being substituted by Peter Rosendahl, director of supply chain and logistics.
Welcome Return
“Given the journey that Coop in Sweden will carry out in the next few years, where words such as ‘together’ and ‘trust’ are fundamental, Örjan's return to Coop is extra valuable," said Magnus Johansson, CEO of Coop Sweden.
"Örjan possesses a very strong ability to combine a clear and engaging leadership with strong functional deliveries. He also has a well documented ability to communicate and build trust between different business areas of a company."
Speaking about the appointment, Grandin added that he was looking forward to getting back to Coop at a time when the company is undergoing major changes and developing a new image.
Coop Sweden is currently rolling out a new operational structure. In August, Johansson was appointed as CEO of the retail company, while last month Christian Wijkström was appointed managing director of it's newly-created subsidiary for stores and supermarkets, Coop Butiker Och Stormarknade.
