Coop Sweden has appointed Fredrik Uhrbom as its new sales and marketing director.
Uhrbom is an experienced professional with a strong background in the retail sector.
Most recently, he was part of the home electronics company Netonnet and previously served as the manager of Clas Ohlson in Sweden.
Flexibility And Efficiency
In November 2020, Coop Sweden reorganised its business to create greater flexibility and efficiency for online sales.
As a result, the departments for sales and marketing merged, and recruitment began for the head of the department's position.
Coop Sweden CEO, Magnus Johansson, said he was "very happy" with the hiring of Uhrbom, highlighting his previous experience.
"He has proven in several roles that he is a commercial leader who will be able to challenge current industry standards - in digitalisation, physical trade and what we at Coop call digital trade," Johansson added.
Commenting on his new role, Uhrbom said, "From the outside, I have followed Coop Sweden's change journey and the work of sharpening its commercial offering.
He added that he looking forward to participate in this journey and grow together with the employees of Coop Sweden.
Work Experience
In addition to previous roles at Netonnet and Clas Ohlson, Uhrbom also worked at the Swedish Export Council in Berlin and Copenhagen, and at Hultafors Group, in various sales and marketing positions.
Since 2020, he has been involved as an investor and advisor in the digital company, TechBuddy AB.
Uhrbom will commence his new role at Coop Sweden in April, the retailer added.
