Coop Sweden has announced the launch of a new initiative that plans to allow members to get 'monthly bonuses directly at the till.'
The retailer said members can now receive a value check directly at the checkout based on the purchases of the previous month.
Coop noted that the monthly bonus direct at the till is a service that was in great demand among many of its almost four million members.
Bonus Points
Coop said when it put the question to its members, they wanted the focus to be on member prices, the opportunity to earn bonus points and receive great offers.
Now it is easy for customers to find their bonus, said Coop, because it is visible directly at the checkout.
'Really Stands Up'
"We have asked our members in various contexts and they are clear that they want to see good membership prices every day, and that loyal members should get a little more," said Anna Bengtsson, CEO of Coop Varberg.
"Now that we have launched the Monthly Bonus directly at the till and strengthened it with even better membership prices and offers, it becomes even clearer that our fine membership program really stands up to comparison."
Strong Brands
Coop said investments that it implements in its membership program not only mean that members can lower the expenses for food but they will also have increased opportunities to earn bonus points on a wide range of collaborations with strong brands.
'Fierce Competition'
"Being able to offer significantly reduced prices on selected favorite products is appreciated by our members," said Bengtsson.
"In our association, we have fierce competition, but we know that we have a very strong offer, which is appreciated by the customers."
