Coop Switzerland has added Christmas trees to its online delivery service for the festive period, hoping to entice shoppers to purchase their Christmas food and drinks through its e-commerce portal as well.
The retailer, in a recent press release, notes that 80% of its Christmas trees are Swiss-grown, with an aim outlined to increase this statistic to 100% in the coming years. In-store, the trees are available for purchase in Coop and Coop Brico+Loisirs outlets nationwide.
About 80,000 trees will be stocked by the supermarket chain. Already, 100% of these with heights of between one and two metres are cultivated in Switzerland, and sold as soon as they are felled.
