Coop Switzerland has added a new plant-based product range from YOLO to its vegan offering.
The YOLO range includes vegan alternatives to chicken and egg sandwiches as well as a selection of grill products.
Vegan Innovations
In addition to the products from YOLO, Coop is launching other vegan innovations from producers such as Planted, The Green Mountain, Garden Gourmet, and Oumph.
The latest expansion of 20 SKUs to the plant-based range brings the total number of vegan products available at the retailer to over 1,200.
The expansion of Coop's range is in response to the increase in demand from its customers for vegan substitute products.
The retailer's Plant Based Food Report 2021, a comprehensive study on plant-based nutrition in Switzerland, showed that 40% of the Swiss population stated that they would want to enjoy vegan and vegetarian alternatives more frequently in five years' time.
YOLO
YOLO is the newest Coop brand that offers herbal substitutes for meat, fish, and cheese under the motto “Just plants - No kiddin'”, with new products frequently being added to the range.
YOLO is introducing the first iteration of vegan alternatives to chicken and egg sandwiches onto the Swiss market. It uses small cubes of Swiss organic tofu to provide the typical egg taste.
Both sandwiches weigh 200 grams and are now available from Coop outlets, priced at CHF 6.95.
