Coop Switzerland has launched a new Italian delicatessen store, Sapori d'Italia, in the town of Aarau, in the north of the country.
The retailer says that Italian cuisine is one of the most popular types of food in Switzerland, and so this new store concept will focus on a range of specialities from its southern neighbour.
"We wanted to create an authentic Italian delicatessen, so we had a long-term exchange with suppliers, producers and our on-site sales partners in Italy," said Joos Sutter, CEO of Coop Switzerland.
"With Sapori d'Italia, we now offer our customers an assortment of everyday consumer products, as well as some of the most popular Italian specialties."
Store Features
The new Sapori d'Italia store will feature a range of fresh Italian baked goods, meats, cheeses, antipasti, pasta, wines, risottos, sauces and olive oils.
There is also a cafe with freshly-roasted Italian coffee and barista service.
The grocery store has a seating area that accommodates around 20 people, where customers can have their coffee or other specialities from the menu.
