Costco Wholesale Corporation has reported net sales of $11.57 billion (€10.56 billion) for the month of January, an increase of 8.0% on the same month last year.
Overall comparable sales increased 6.6% during this period, while e-commerce sales saw 17.6% growth.
In the US and Canada, comparable sales grew 6.9% and 7.1% respectively, with other international markets registering a 4.5% growth for the month.
22-Week Period
For the twenty-two weeks ended February 2, 2020, the company reported net sales of $68.56 billion (€62.57 billion), an increase of 7.6% on the same period the previous year.
Overall comparable sales increasing 6.3% during the 22-week period, while e-commerce sales grew by 17.2%.
In the US and Canada, comparable sales grew 6.7% and 5.5% respectively, with other international markets registering a 5.0% increase.
Costco currently operates 785 warehouses, including 546 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 100 in Canada, 39 in Mexico, 29 in the United Kingdom, 26 in Japan, 16 in Korea, 13 in Taiwan, 11 in Australia, two in Spain, and one each in Iceland, France, and China. Costco also operates e-commerce sites in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Korea, Taiwan, and Japan.
